Lissa Lynn Smouse

Lissa Lynn Smouse, 76 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastors Judy and Mike Smith officiating.  Burial will be at the Arlington Cemetery in rural Moville at a later date.  Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Honorary Bearers for the service will be Bob Steffe and Troy Smouse, Jr.

Lissa was born on September 19, 1947 in Climbing Hill, Iowa to Hilburn, Sr. and Lucille (Hane) Steffe.   She married Steve Smouse in 1968 (a marriage that dissolved in 1983).  Lissa took great pride in being a homemaker, having only worked outside the home for a short while during her adult life.  She enjoyed putting together puzzles, spending time with friends and family, but cherished most spoiling her grandchildren.  Lissa was a member of the Open Door Chapel in Sioux City.  

Lissa is survived by her son Troy (Fiancé Amanda Terlisner) Smouse of Coon Rapids, Iowa; granddaughter Yazmine Smouse of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Troy Howard Smouse, Jr, Serena Miller, and Aurora Smouse, all of Coon Rapids, Iowa; great-grandchild Layla Smouse of Coon Rapids, Iowa; siblings Beth Lau of Cushing, Iowa, Les (Marilyn) Steffe of Anthen, Georgia, Dirl Steffe of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Steve Steffe of Plainview, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lissa was preceded in death by her parents, brother Hilburn “Bud” (Mary) Steffe of Sioux City, brother Harlan “Gene” Steffe of Gilbert, Arizona, brother David Steffe of Topeka, Kansas, daughter Tracy Smouse of Sioux City, grandson Trent Terlisner of Coon Rapids, Iowa.
