  Linda M. Smith, 75, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at a local hospital. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial Graceland Park Cemetery.

  Linda was born on October 14, 1948 in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Earl and Dorothy (Unger) Bentz. She graduated from Burns High School in Norfolk, and attended Norfolk Junior College where she met Michael Erskine. The two were married and made their home in Sioux City. To this union, their son Sean was born. Michael passed away in 2008.

  On June 28, 2011 Linda married Dennis Smith. The two lived in Sioux City.

  Linda worked for St. Luke’s Hospital for many years, retiring as a pharmaceutical supplier. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and her faith was a pillar of who she was. Linda was a proud and devout Catholic.

  She was an animal lover, quite passionate about rescue animals, and donated to various animal rescue organizations. She was also an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.

  She is survived by her husband, Dennis Smith; her son, Sean Erskine; brother, Steve (Shelly) Bentz; brother, Doug (Debbie) Bentz; sister, Kathy (Mark) Morrison; brother, Jeff (Melissa) Bentz; and several nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Michael Erskine.
