Linda Kay Kane, a cherished soul who blessed this world with her warmth and compassion, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by love. Born on March 24, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Christian Friedrich Gillmann and Josie Mae Taft. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on July 4, 2026 from 11AM-2PM.

Linda's journey began in the heart of Iowa, where she grew up alongside her siblings in a home filled with laughter and lessons of kindness. She graduated proudly from Central High School in 1962, embarking on a career that showcased her nurturing spirit as a surgical technician at St. Vincent and St. Joseph Hospitals. There, she touched countless lives with her gentle care and unwavering dedication.

In 1971, Linda married the love of her life, William ‘Billy’ Kane, on February 17th. Together, they built a life rich in love and companionship, a union that blessed them with two daughters, Cindy and Kelly Jo. Though Kelly Jo's untimely passing was a sorrow Linda carried, she found solace in the vibrant lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Linda's legacy includes her surviving daughter, Cindy Raders, and her grandchildren: Justin (Amanda) Raders, Kristin, Shelby, and Josie Poulsen. Her great-grandchildren, Landon Fisher, Kane Poulsen, Kaylynn Fisher, Jamey Raders, Reagan Poulsen, Emmy Raders, and Jayna Irwin, brought her immeasurable happiness and filled her days with laughter and hope.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Billy, daughter Kelly Jo, parents, and siblings Harold ‘Bud’ Widner, Dean Widner, and Judy Douglas, Linda is now reunited in eternal peace with those she dearly missed. Her surviving siblings, Patrick Widner, Jo Ellen Nelson, Art Widner, Bruce Widner, Bonnie Nolan, Dennis Widner, Mary Powell, David Widner, Nancy Baker, and Chris Widner, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will continue to cherish her memory and the love she so generously shared.

Linda's life was enriched by simple pleasures: camping and traveling with her family, tending to her garden and flower beds, and thrifting adventures with her dear friends from Memory Lane Flea Market. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, where every visitor felt welcomed and loved.

In her memory, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause close to her heart, ensuring her spirit of giving continues to touch those in need. Contributions can be made at [St. Jude Children’s Hospital](https://www.stjude.org).

Linda Kay Kane's life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she bestowed upon us. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
