Lila Mae Gude

Lila Mae Gude, 92, passed away Friday, July 9th, 2021 at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, IA.

A Memorial Service will be held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel located at 6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 with visitation at 10am followed by service at 10:30am. Lila was born September 10, 1928 in Sioux City, IA to Noah and Florence (Godfrey) Hauser where she lived most of her life. 

She married William J. Gude on April 1st, 1946 in Sioux City, IA. To this union, 6 children were born. 

Lila was a house wife and worked several retail sales positions throughout her life.

She loved baking for every holiday and decorated her house for all the seasons which seemed to give her great joy. She was very interested in the military all branches of service. She collected many items to do with WWII, pictures, newspaper clippings and memorabilia. She attended many military reunions in her later years which she enjoyed.

Lila is survived by 4 children, Vickie Goergen of Mesa, AZ, Diane (Brian) Gardner of Mesa, AZ, Debbie Kimmer of Sioux City, IA, Kelly (Amy) Gude, Gilbert, AZ; 9 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William J. Gude, her companion, Harold Mueller, daughter Carol Barnacle, son William Gude, sister Ida Harshfield, brother Elroy Hauser, grandchildren Edward Kimmer, Anna Gude and Michael Chishlon, and great-grandchild Kiearrah Kimmer-Harden.
