Leon Victor Jolin, 86 of Sioux City, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023 at a local care facility. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Leon was born on March 23, 1937 in rural Elk Point, South Dakota to William J. and Mary (Kyle) Jolin. He received his education in Sioux City, graduating from Heelan High School. Leon served in the United States Navy from 1954 until 1959 where he was a Aviation Mechanic until receiving his honorable discharge and continued his service in the Navy Reserves from 1959 until 1963. Leon married Phyllis J. Knutson in Sioux City, Iowa on December 26, 1960. Leon was a plumber/pipefitter his entire working career.
Leon was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 33 in Iowa, enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, spending time with family, and spending time making and building things.
Leon is survived by his wife Phylis Jolin; children Terry (Jenny) Jolin, Jonathon Jolin, Rhonda L. Jolin, and Lenny (Tracey) Jolin; and loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, and all five siblings.
