Leon F. Skuodas, 84, of Sioux City, IA passed away Tuesday April 4, 2023 at MercyOne Hosiptal in Sioux City surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Mater Dei - Nativity Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service starting at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Leon was born January 26, 1939 to Frank and Morta (Mineikis) Skuodas in Lithuania. He lived in Lithuania until 1945 where he then ended up moving to Germany for six years. Leon and his family made the decision to move to America in 1951 ending up in Sioux City. He was drafted into the United States Army where he was honorably discharged in 1963. Leon married his best friend and love of his life Madonna Conrad on June 8, 1963 in Zearing, Iowa. To this marriage they had six children. Leon was a Construction Superintendent at WA Klinger until he retired in 2004. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and Men’s Club. You could always find Leon playing Cribbage, volunteering at the Fish Frys, gardening, golfing and building knick-knacks. His family was top priority and loved spending every minute with them.
Leon will be truly missed by his wife of 59 years, Madonna Skuodas, six children: Michael (Stephanie) of Sioux Falls, SD, Katherine (William) Bissonette of Tomah, WI, Mark Skuodas of Olathe, KS, Rebecca (Chris) Wolf of Sioux City, Andrew (Amanda) Skuodas of Sioux City, Joseph (Elyse) Skuodas of San Diego, CA, 11 grandchildren: Sydney, Jack, Emerson, Samantha, Tyler, Aubrey, Colton, Tony, Liam, Felicity, Daniel, one great-grandchild, Teddy, two brothers, Victor (Patty) Skuodas and George (Vicky) Skuodas, three sisters, Lucy Connor, Donna Hoing, Vida (Greg) Eden, many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Morta Skuodas, two brothers, Bruno and Alfie, two sisters, Biruta and Wanda.
