Lee Allen Benson

Lee Allen Benson, 61, of Sioux City, IA passed away on December 19, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial with military honors will follow at Graceland Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Lee, the son of Milford and Patricia (Jaacks) Benson, was born August 4, 1962, in Le Mars, IA. Lee’s family lived in Kingsley and Merrill during his younger years then moved to South Sioux City, NE where he graduated from high school. Following high school, he served as an Army Ranger until his honorable discharge. Lee continued to serve his country by serving in the Army National Guard.

In 1982, Lee began seeing the love of his life Tracy Morris and he welcomed her three children: Pete, Donya, and Jennifer into his life. Lee and Tracy were blessed with one son, Sidney. Throughout the years, Lee’s jobs included: truck driving, working at Adcraft Printing Company, and working for Star Tree Service for several years. Lee enjoyed camping and building and designing remote control planes.

He is survived by his children: Pete Morris (Cassandra Hull) of Sioux City, IA, Donya Parsley (Bobby) of Aurora, CO, Jennifer Morris (Mark Winston) of Sioux City, and Sidney Benson of Le Mars, IA; many grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and six siblings: Larry, Jim, Mike, Joe, Mel, and Traci.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tracy on February 20, 2005; and three siblings.
