Lavonne N. Steeg, 76 of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at her residence. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home with Father David Liewer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in rural Decatur, Nebraska. Lavonne was born on March 26, 1946 in Minnesota to Dudley and Norma (Voss) Mulder. She received her education at the Hopkins School in Sioux City, Iowa along with classes at Western Iowa Technical Community College. Throughout her life, she was constantly a Siouxlander, living in North Sioux City, South Dakota, Morningside of Sioux City, and finally in South Sioux City, Nebraska from 2003. Lavonne was a Custom Decorating Coordinator for JC Penny for many years, until her retirement.
Lavonne was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Sioux City for years. She was a very talented seamstress. She loved sewing, quilting, embroidering, and cross-stitch. Lavonne also enjoyed crafts, painting, home décor and country music.
Lavonne is survived by her daughter Sherry (Steeg) Erdmann, sons Todd and Alan Steeg, significant-other Carl Hinds of South Sioux City for 30 years.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her mother Norma Peterson, father Dudley Mulder, and baby grandson Dustin J. Nelson.
