Larry Richard Dow

   Larry Richard Dow, 84, of Jefferson, SD passed away on November 7, 2020 at a Sioux City hospital.

   Cremation rites will be accorded and private family graveside services will be held at St. Agnes Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion, SD.   Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

   Larry, the son of Richard and Maxine (Williams) Dow, was born July 15, 1936 in Sioux City, IA.  He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from East High School.

   Larry’s daughter, Christine, was born from a previous marriage.

   While working at Zenith Corporation, Larry met Beverly Girard and they were married on August 27, 1965 in Elk Point, SD.  This union was blessed with two children: Troy and Laura.  The family made their home in McCook Lake.  After working at Zenith for several years, he then began working at Sunshine Grocery Store until his retirement.  In 2001, Larry and Bev moved to Jefferson, SD.

   Larry enjoyed watching professional wrestling and enjoyed his Coca Cola.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

   Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bev of Jefferson, SD; children: Chris (Mark) Wendte of Sioux City, IA, Troy Dow of Sioux City, IA, and Laura Dow of Jefferson, SD; one sister, Dixie (Jerry) Hesse of Sioux City, IA; two grandchildren: Stephany (Denver) Fincher and James Owings; one great grandson: Samuel Fincher; brother-in-law, James (Evelyn) Girard of Sioux City; three sisters-in-law: Constance Hubert of Kansas, Jeannette Hubert of Sioux Falls, SD and Norma (Wayne) Brown of Hawarden, IA.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.
