Kristin Jean (Flammang) Klug, age 71, of North Sioux City, SD, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.
Kristin was born on May 13, 1953 in Sioux City, IA; however, she was adopted as an infant by Edgar and Esther (Glover) Flammang. She always felt the utmost gratitude to her birth family for placing her with adoptive parents who loved her unconditionally. Kristin grew up in rural Lawton and graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1972. Kristin graduated from Briar Cliff College with a bachelor of arts degree in 1985. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech with a degree in accounting in 1988, where she greatly excelled at figuring math in her head.
On May 13, 1999, Kristin married Kenneth (Kenny) L. Klug. These two soul mates were married for twenty-two years before his passing on February 25, 2022. They perfectly accommodated each other with their strengths and weaknesses.
Kristin loved reading, playing cards, her dogs, and traveling to Okoboji. Her claim to fame was saying the ABCs backwards, which she still successfully did until the day before her death. Kristin worked as a church secretary at Riverside Lutheran Church. She also worked at Sirius.
Kristin is survived by her sister, Kerry (Flammang) Ruehle of Sioux City, and her brothers, Kevin (Diane) Flammang of Granville, and Kirk (Nancy) Flammang of Lawton. Kristin’s sister-in-law Norma McParland (Ken) of Sioux City; her brother-in-law, Keith Klug (Sandy) of Omaha, her sister-in-law Velma Wiig of Lincoln; her sister-in-law Char Klug of Council Bluffs, and many nieces and nephews.
Kristin was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny, parents, Edgar and Esther (Glover) Flammang, and brothers-in-law- Michael Ruehle, Jody Klug, and Duane Wiig.
