Kirk R. Kingsley

December 10, 1954 — October 27, 2022

Kirk R. Kingsley, 67, of Ireton passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia.  A celebration of life gathering will be Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Children’s Park, 840 4th Ave SE, in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Kirk was born in Sioux City in 1954 where he spent his childhood.  He went to college and became a police officer in Hinton, IA for a short time.  He loved to travel on his motorcycle and worked many odd jobs until he found a place to call home in Ireton.  While living there he found his love for motorcycle training and taught classes in Sioux Falls, SD and in Iowa with his friend, John.

In 2010 he met Debra Lawrence and in 2014 they were united in marriage, where he found himself thrown into the mix of a ready-made family with grandkids.  They were snowbirds and traveled back and forth to Sun City, AZ until the effects of Dementia made it too difficult.

Kirk was a funny guy, always having a joke or some sarcasm to toss your way.  He loved hitting the open road on his motorcycle and traveling the great USA.  Kirk was a great friend to many including animals, like his dog, cat and peacocks.  He will be greatly missed!

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Debra Kingsley; step-daughter, Misty (Eric) Dillon; grandsons, Wiley and Hayden Dillon; sister, Robyn (Emmett) Hodgins; niece, Erin (Derek) Wood; nephew, Blake (Candice) Hodgins; sister-in-law, Edna Kingsley; nephews, Ruben Taladay and Dakota Kingsley; niece, Cheyenne Kingsley; cousin, Alyce (Rob) Dalzell; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Blanche Kingsley; brother, David; and loving aunt Mel.
