Kimberly M. Olson

Kimberly M. Olson, 53, of Sioux City, IA passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Stone Park Blvd. Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City. 

Kim was born the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Rhoten) Goode on December 22, 1970 in Pocahontas, Iowa. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1989. After high school she attended Brainerd Community College and then transferred to the University of Iowa where she earned her BA degree. She also earned a BA in accounting from Briar Cliff College.

Her working career has been in the telecommunications field. She started at MCIWorldcom which later became Verizon. She has been working for Tech Caliber as a Senior Consultant for the past 12 years. They were so supportive during this difficult cancer journey.

In 2002, Kim met her best friend and the love of her life. They married on June 19, 2004 in Sioux City. Together they were involved with the Siouxland Humane Society where they fostered over 100 dogs and puppies. She loved traveling and going to Craft breweries. She loved spending time with family and friends and hosting events at the Dirty Turtle Bar and Event Center.

Kim is survived by her parents, Donald and Barb Goode of Baxter, MN; daughter, Axel (Chance) Weber of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Knightly, Ryder, Immi and Abbi; brother, Kevin (Marnie) Goode of Brainerd, MN; niece, Alycia (Matt) Nielsen of Winsted, MN; and great niece, Cosette Nielsen. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Siouxland Humane Society, Boys & Girls Club of Siouxland, or Hospice of Siouxland.
