Kevin M. Hoffman

Kevin M. Hoffman, 54 of Jefferson, South Dakota passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Dakota Dunes. A luncheon will begin at the church at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery in Allen, Nebraska. 

Kevin was born the son of Maurice and Twilla (Weeks) Hoffman on September 18, 1968 in Carroll, Iowa. He graduated from Audubon High School and then obtained a business degree from Buena Vista University. Kevin married LeAnn McDonald on June 21, 1997 in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in Allen, Nebraska for 13 years where Kevin worked as a hired farm hand. They then made their home in Jefferson and Kevin went to work for the railroad.

Kevin will be fondly remembered as a social butterfly and a genuine person who always put others before himself. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors, riding his motorcycle or in his side by side out in the countryside. Kevin was a “jack of all trades” kind of guy who could fix almost anything and who really enjoyed the work that he did.

Kevin is survived by his wife, LeAnn Hoffman of Jefferson, SD; children, Nate (Sarah) Sturges of Hinton, IA and Courtney (Kyle) Sturges of Bellevue, NE; mother, Twilla Hoffman; siblings, Susie Hoffman and David (Jodi) Hoffman; and grandchildren, Railey, Ethan, Piper, Ian, and Beckett.

He was preceded in death by his father.
