Kenneth R. "Shorty" Jones

Kenneth R. “Shorty” Jones, 91 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place. A military graveside service will be held at Dakota City Cemetery at a later date.

Kenneth was born the son of Louis and Etta (Keith) Jones on October 12, 1932 in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. He married Boneva Rose Wolf on November 20, 1954. They lived in Sioux City for many years but also spent several years in Phoenix. They enjoyed 56 years together. Boneva passed away in 2011.

Shorty worked construction for WA Klinger Company for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Shorty honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Wayne Jones of South Sioux City, NE and Sue Lewis of Woodbine, IA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Boneva; daughters, Jackie and Theresa; and 13 siblings.
