Kenneth Foster, affectionately known as Kenny, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Born on November 28, 1956, in Sioux City, Iowa.

The son of Raymond and Joyce (Streeter) Foster, Kenny spent his formative years in McCook Lake, South Dakota, enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood near the water. He attended Jefferson High School. Early in life, Kenny was blessed with the birth of his daughter, Jennifer. On September 12, 1995, he married Dolly, with whom he shared two children: Kenzie and Chase. Although their marriage later ended in divorce, they remained close friends through the years.

Throughout his life, Kenny held many jobs, from working on the railroad to truck driving. Yet, one endeavor stood out as his proudest: owning and operating his celebrated food truck, earning recognition throughout the community as the "Funnel Cake Guy." He delighted in sharing his signature funnel cakes at various food truck events, including Riverboat Days and the Renaissance Festival, where his talents brought smiles and joy to many.

Kenny was a man of many talents and interests. He loved helping others and was a true jack of all trades—someone who could fix and build just about anything he set his hands on, especially if it had an engine. He enjoyed working on cars, racing go-karts, and was an avid collector of unique items. His custom rig, lovingly named "Black Beauty," was a source of immense pride. In his youth, he made fond memories hanging out at the dirt track. Family vacations to the Black Hills became treasured moments that echoed through the years.

Known for his outgoing and charismatic nature, Kenny was a straight shooter who always called it like he saw it. He loved going to coffee, engaging in meaningful conversations and building lasting friendships. Above all, he cherished his children and grandchildren, taking great pride in their accomplishments and their lives.

Kenny’s family was central to his world. He is survived by his children: Kenzie (Taylor) James, Chase Foster, and Jennifer Ewing; his grandchildren: Hunter Ewing, Gunner Ewing, and Sophia Ewing; and his great-grandchildren: Bentley, Carter, and a baby expected in May. He is also survived by a brother and two sisters, as well as his former wife, Dolly. Kenny’s life was enriched by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joyce Foster; father, Raymond Foster; son-in-law, Ron Ewing; niece, Brandy Bergmann; and his grandparents, the Streeters, whose legacies live on in his heart.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, located at 6200 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the funeral home.
