As a young child, Kehona was always a happy girl, always had a smile on her face, dancing and singing. She was always dressing her brother up and making him participate in her dance offs. In her teen years, she cherished the company of numerous friends and enjoyed endless sleep overs.
Kehona graduated from North High School in Sioux City, class of 2013. Kehona moved to Des Moines in 2019 working at Child Serve which she so loved and then later that year moved to Las Vegas where she made it her home and had so many friends whom she thought of as her family.
At the age of 29 Kehona left us with a legacy of kindness and a heart so big it reached around the world; she lived her life to the fullest and she touched the lives of those she met in a very special way.
Kehona was known for her clever come backs, sense of humor, sarcasm, radiant smile and was always the life of party. Kehona loved to take endless pictures and videos, she was the heartbeat of every gathering, always ready for a good time, an escapade at a moment’s notice, a conversation and dancing. Her spirit was magnetic, drawing people in and reminding us what it means to be fully present in the moment.
Kehona had a remarkable way to show love to her friends and family by gifting them with phone calls, texts, and facetiming them; either just saying hello or her checking on them when she thought they needed support, her love was unwavering. Kehona always wanted to make sure that the people she cherished knew she was thinking of them and wanted to make them feel special. Kehona’s love ran so deep and she was a beacon of light to all who knew her spreading love and joy wherever she went. She was loyal to those she loved without hesitation.
You would always know when Kehona was the happiest because you could always hear her singing from the time she could talk into adulthood; her dream was to try out for American Idol. She loved to travel, go swimming, ride around in her car listening to music, 4 wheeling in the desert, and pulling pranks on people & most of all loved “the kids”. You could always hear coming with her favorite saying “Baby Guurrrl”
Her memory will remain in our hearts forever and Keys will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Melissa Smith (Orlondo), her fathers, Corey Butler and Tyrone Davis, her brothers Rashan Davis (Emily Molden), Diontay Phillips (Nicole Reta) and sister Aubrianna Butler, nieces Kehlani & Kamari Phillips, Grandparents: Ron Ahrenstorff, Darlene Pfingsten, Lloyd Schweigert and Pamela Angerhofer Schweigert, aunts and uncles Guy, Fawn, Wardell, Michelle, Tracy, Erin (Steve), Jessica (Dillon), Courtney (Lorenzo), Sam and Chase (Alex), in Key’s words “Best Friend” Alexus Richmond, God- daughter Si’Onna LeeAnn Fox, & her family Sin City Deciples Motorcycle Club in Las Vegas.
