Obituary

Kathryn “Katie” Margaret (Brown) Robison, 79, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her residence.

A visitation honoring Katie will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m., with a Prayer/Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Kathryn “Katie,” the daughter of Lloyd and Beth (Soloman) Brown, was born on May 14, 1947, in Lexington, Nebraska. Katie grew up and attended school in several different areas as her stepfather served in the United States Air Force. During these early years, her family lived in Okinawa for three and a half years. She graduated from Burges High School in El Paso, Texas.

Following high school, Katie attended college in Macon, Georgia. On December 12, 1966, she was united in marriage to John F. Robison in Warner Robins, Georgia. This union was blessed with twin daughters, Kimberly and Lisa, and the family made their home in Georgia.

Following her divorce from John, Katie moved to Sioux City to be closer to her family. While living in Sioux City, she worked at MCI and held various secretarial positions.

Katie enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including crocheting, knitting, and bowling. She especially enjoyed sitting around the table drinking coffee and, as her family would say, “stirring the pot.” She was a woman of deep faith who loved her dogs dearly, especially Muffin. Katie will be remembered as a fighter—bold, strong, and never afraid to speak her mind.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kimberly Jolley and Lisa (Bob) Te Slaa; five grandchildren, Johnathen, Cassie, Melanie, Jennifer, and Aleshia; six great-grandchildren, with one more expected in September; and her brother, Steven (Karin) Gooslby.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beth; her father, Lloyd; and her grandson, Anthony.
