Katherine M. “Kathy” Hartwig-Snyder, 66 of Sioux City passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

Kathy was born to Kenneth and E. Vivian (Pieper) Hartwig on September 14, 1957 in Pender, Nebraska. She graduated from Pender High School then attended Nebraska Methodist for her RN. She then graduated from Briar Cliff University with her BSN. She went on to obtain her Masters as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Creighton University. Kathy married Earl Snyder on April 11, 1981. They made their home in Sioux City.

Kathy worked for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital, first as a nurse and then in IT healthcare. She then did consulting work all over the United States and Canada. She made many lasting friendships during that time.

Kathy enjoyed many things in her life, but most of all, she loved to be an amazing mother and grandmother. She was a collector of sea glass and rocks, a foodie, loved to read, travel, sew, and scrapbook. Kathy truly enjoyed all aspects of life. She was a devout Christan and longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Earl Snyder of Sioux City; children, Alex (Jes Hudgins) Snyder of Wilmington, NC and Hannah (Seth) DeMoss of Sioux City; siblings, Sheryl (Donovan) Ehrman, Christine Glissman, and William (Karen) Hartwig; and grandson, Iggy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
