Karen A. Hagaman

Karen A. Hagaman, 81 of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

Karen was born the daughter of Carroll and Helen (Humphrey) Schubert on January 6, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. Karen married Richard “Dick” Hagaman on June 27, 1959. They enjoyed 64 years together.

Karen worked as a teacher’s aid at Hunt Elementary for almost 40 years. After her retirement, she returned as a substitute for another 15 years.

She loved being outside enjoying her flowers and gardening or sitting in the driveway talking with neighbors. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to The Gospel Mission or Food Bank of Siouxland in Karen’s name.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dick Hagaman; sons, Troy (Judy) Hagaman and Todd (Jody) Hagaman; brothers, Jim (Donna) Schubert and Gary (Betsy) Schubert; sisters, Mary (Jim) Adams and Deb (Jim) Marshall; grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) Marks, Zachary (Ashley Porterfield) Hagaman, Brandon (Martha) Hagaman, and Bryce Hagaman; great-grandson, Adrian; and special pet, Pepper.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
