Justin Franklin Emmick, 49, passed away tragically on July 29, 2026. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Sunnybrook Community Church, 5601 Sunnybrook Dr., Sioux City, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Ethan Emmick in support of Justin's children and their future. The family is grateful for your kindness, love, and generosity during this difficult time.

Justin was born on May 13, 1977, in Sioux City, Iowa. Above all else, he was a devoted father whose children were the center of his world. He loved them deeply and worked hard to provide for them, taking great pride in being their dad.

Justin was known for his generous spirit, caring heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. He formed lasting bonds with family and friends and valued trust, loyalty, and meaningful conversations. His determination and hope for new beginnings inspired those around him, and he always looked forward to what the future might bring.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved entertaining family and friends with extravagant meals. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a meal, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Justin made those around him feel valued and cared for.

Justin leaves behind his children, Ethan, Maycee, and Chanin Emmick; the mother of his two oldest children, Christina (Kyle) Petersen; his mother and stepfather, Vena and Rodney Blackmore; his siblings, Carl (Sanita) Soto, Laurie (Rustin) Lake, Catlyn (Emil) Emmick, and Dawson (Rylee) Emmick; his nieces and nephews, Sayli, Sevastian, Sienna, Aubree, Brogan, Ava, Brecca, Remington, Balin, and Hudson; his step-grandmother, Janice Emmick; and many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Emmick; his grandparents, Don Emmick, Della Emmick, and Lavena Roos; his brother, Jamie Emmick Roos; his stepson, Royce Fisher; nephew, Harley Emmick; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Justin's kindness, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him will endure. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he so freely shared.
