Julie K. Hoch, 74, of South Sioux City, NE passed on May 14, 2025 in, NE after a lengthy illness. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home located at 1431 W 29th Street in South Sioux City, NE. Fr. Michael Keating will be the Celebrant of the memorial service. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the memorial service at 10 A.M. Cemetery and graveside services will be held at St. Michael Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE.
Julie Hoch has been a lifelong resident of South Sioux City, NE. She taught as a grade schoolteacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Emerson, NE. She also held other positions at the Park & Recreation in South Sioux City, and the Federal Court House in Sioux City.
She belonged to St. Michael Catholic Parish in South Sioux City, to a golf and softball league. She was one of the best female softball players. Amidst other sports, She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan and a goofy New York Yankees Fan. Julie loved her annual family reunions to the Ten Mile Lake were over 60-70 family members would celebrate time together.
Survivors include: her sister Rita Chappelear, of South Sioux City; brother Tom (Renee) Hoch of South Sioux City; sister Patty (Scott) Beermann of Dakota City, NE; sister Donna Hoch of South Sioux City, sister-in-law Judy Hoch of South Sioux City, NE and sister-in-law Luanne Tieck of Sioux City, IA.
Julie held a very special bond with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry and Jim, sister Mary Jo and Jeannie, brother-in-law Larry Chappelear, great nephew Cedric Hueshen, great niece Iasabella Hoch, and 3 fur babies Shelby I, Shelby II, and Maggie.
