Joyce Ann Hutton

Joyce Ann Hutton, 84, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend Trevor Freudenburg officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hinton, Iowa.  Online condolence may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joyce was born February 17, 1938 in Sioux City, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Walston) Stusse. 

She graduated from Le Mars High School in 1956. 

On June 6, 1958, Joyce married Charles “Al” Hutton at Trinity Lutheran Church.  To this union, four children were born.  After her children were grown, Joyce went to work for the Sioux City Community Schools as a Librarian, retiring after 20 years of service.  Family was extremely important to Joyce, and she loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with her loved ones and attending her grandchildren’s sporting activities.  She also enjoyed reading.  Joyce was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband Charles “Al” Hutton of Sioux City; daughters:  Heidi Lynne Hutton of Sioux City, Holly Ann (Phil) Ubben of Sioux City, and Susan Kay (Vince) Tillo of Sioux City; her son Daniel Allen (Janelle) Hutton of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Darrell (Venita) Stusse; and sisters:  Sue Maack of Le Mars, IA, Betti (Kenny) Spies of Hinton, IA, and Jean (Bob) Motz of Sioux City. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Lanny Maack, and three nephews. 

Joyce would want everyone to be comfortable and so the family asks for casual attire for Joyce’s services.
