Joyce Haines passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Sioux City, IA at the age of 66. Joyce was born on December 2, 1959, in Pender, NE to Darrel and Jeanette (Peterson) Schademan. Joyce spent most of her childhood in South Sioux City, NE, where she grew up to be a vibrant individual known for her energetic spirit and love of the outdoors.
Joyce was a graduate of South Sioux City High School. She was united in marriage to James Haines in Sioux City and together, they welcomed four daughters: Hope, Brandy, Chelsea, and Ariel. The couple later established separate lives and parted ways.
Joyce worked at Burger King, where she was known for her energetic personality, youthful spirit, and kindness. She was deeply passionate about her interests, notably being a daily attendee at PACE where she enjoyed many activities. Joyce was an animal lover, especially cats, which brought joy and companionship to her life. She was also known to enjoy nature and going fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Hope Haines (Kyle Hafford), Brandy Haines, Chelsea Paxson, and Ariel Dias (Jesse); her siblings, Darrel Schademan (Brenda) Jr., Dean Schademan (Brenda), Jean Dailey (Mike), Julie Schademan, and Joan Barrett (Paul); and her grandchildren, Cory Haines, Tristin Hafford, Eevee Dias, and Rhyan Hafford. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel and Jeanette (Peterson) Schademan.
A visitation in celebration of Joyce's life will take place at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, IA, on Sunday. February 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. At the conclusion of the Prayer Service, there will be a meal and a time of fellowship in the Meyer Brothers reception room.
