Joy K. Ebel

Joy K. Ebel, 47 of Sioux City passed away March 13, 2023 at her home of natural causes.  A memorial mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Holy Cross Parish Blessed Sacrament.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  

Joy was born the daughter of Elmer and Linda (Harms) Ebel on June 16, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1993. 

She enjoyed reading and writing fictional stories.  She was very creative.  She liked to go on drives around the countryside.  Joy never had any formal training in computers, but somehow knew how to fix them.

Joy is survived by her mother, Linda Ebel of Sioux City, IA; siblings, Adam Ebel of Sioux City, IA; Matthew (Aleshia) Ebel of Fremont, NE, Christopher Ebel of Long Beach, CA, and Jill Ebel of Winter Haven, FL; nieces, Lilly and Ava Ebel; nephew, James Ebel; uncle, Michael Harms of Nevada, IA; great aunt, Marilyn (Pat) Kennedy of Le Mars, IA.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer; paternal grandfather, George Ebel; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Joleen Harms; nephew, Henry Elmer Ebel; and aunts, Maxine Harms and Cheryl Robinson.
