Jose Luis Aguilar

Jose Luis Aguilar, 47 of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at a local hospital.  A Celebration of Life Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 and continue on Tuesday, October 31st from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Family requests casual attire, and please don’t wear black.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

 Jose was born on November 6, 1975 in Denver City, Texas to Jose C. Aguilar and Carmen Barraza.  He received his education at Villa Ahumada y Anexas, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Jose lived in numerous locations, including Hobbs, New Mexico, Norfolk, Nebraska, South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Sioux City, Iowa.  He married Emma Aguirre on August 5, 2000 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. 

Jose was owner/operator of J&E Auto Sales, LLC in Sioux City, Iowa.  He was a member of the IADA (Independent Auto Dealers Association).

Jose is survived by his wife Emma; daughters Angela, Nivia, Sofia, and Joselynn and son Miguel; parents, Jose C. Aguilar and Carmen Barraza; brothers Alberto Aguilar (N’Elena Avalos) and Juan Aguilar; and many nieces and nephews.

Jose was preceded in death by his brother Jesus “Gordito” Aguilar.
