Jonathon Duane Poppen

Jonathon Duane Poppen, 53, of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at a local hospital after a brief illness. A Celebration of Jon’s life will be planned at a later date. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jonathon, the son of JoAnn and Duane Poppen, was born March 22, 1969 in Cherokee, Iowa. Jon was a graduate of Hinton High School and Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.

He held various jobs and spent the last fourteen years working at Bomgaars in Sioux City, until health issues forced him to cease working.

Jon was an avid golfer and fisherman, and he could always tell a tall tale!

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Poppen; grandson, Dylan; and sister, Patty Parden.
