John M Kuehl

John M. Kuehl, 82 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday. January 28, 2023 at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City, IA. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday with a time of sharing at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

John was born September 28, 1940 in Sioux City; he was the son of Ralph and Marian (Beller) Kuehl. John grew up in South Sioux City and attended South Sioux City St. Michael’s grade school and graduated from Heelan High School in 1958. He wrestled collegiately at Wayne State College and then attended L.A. City College.

On October 24, 1970, John married Pauline Reichardt in Sioux City.

John was a member of the Local 214 Painters Union and worked for Blankenship Painting for over 30 years, retiring at age 60. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. John had a love of animals, dancing, and a great party with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife Pauline of Sioux City; his children: David Kuehl (Carrie) of Sioux City. Katie Calease (Jason) of Tiffin, IA and Adam Kuehl (Tomei) of Denver, Co; 5 grandchildren: Winnie Mandel (Alex), Maxwell Kuehl, Molly Kuehl, Tolan Kuehl and Reif Kuehl; a great grandson Theodore Mandel.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Bobby and his 2 sisters: Doe and Rooney. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws Gordon and Grace Reichardt.
