John T. Deming, 77 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Westwood Specialty Care Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2026 at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with a Condolence Meal to follow. Visitation, with the family present, will begin on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

John was born on December 16, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Walter and Rosemary (Huxtable) Deming.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. He attended Western Iowa Tech Community College, where he earned an associate's degree. For his career, he worked in technical support at Gateway, and then later in life, becoming a game technician at Chuck E. Cheese.

John was an intelligent man with a lifelong desire to learn and understand how things worked. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together simply to see how they functioned, and he found great satisfaction in teaching others.

He had many interests throughout his life. John had a deep appreciation for books and was always eager to learn something new. He enjoyed computers and technology, photography, and woodworking, spending countless hours pursuing the hobbies he loved.

Above all else, John cherished his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. Whether he was giving them rides on his lap in his wheelchair or sitting quietly on the porch with his dog, he treasured life's simple moments and the memories they created together.

John is survived by his children, Sabrina Deming, John Harvey Bellis-Deming, Rose Ann Armstrong, and Lucile Barber; his grandchildren, Cole, Carter, Emma, Ember, Landon, Logan, Lilly, and Liam; his siblings, Rosemary McKinley, Rob Deming, and Michael Deming; and his sister-in-law, Vicki Deming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosemary (Huxtable) Deming; his brothers, Larry Deming and Steve Deming; his brother-in-law, John McKinley; and his sister-in-law, Tina Deming.
