John T. Chase

John T. Chase, 66, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. John was born the son of Kenneth and Genevieve (Clark) Chase on June 8, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He graduated high school in 1972, the last graduating class of Central High School.  John married Joyce Adams on May 19, 1979 in Sioux City.  John worked for Sioux Tools and K Mart.  He then spent 13 years with Hinton schools and later retired from the Sioux City schools. 

John was loved by all who knew him.  He enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his grandchildren.  He always kept in touch with his family and his church family.  He was proud of sponsoring 50 Vietnamese families whom he helped get their start in America. 

John is survived by his wife, Joyce Chase of Sioux City; children, Cindy (Jason) Baker of Wasilla, Alaska, Beth (Keith) Claypool of Jackson, Nebraska, and Chris Chase of Sioux City; siblings, Cheryl (Roger) Kloster of Jackson, Minnesota; and Steve Chase of Bothell, Washington; grandchildren, Julianna, Isaiah, Elijah, and Lily Baker and Taylor Claypool, Thomas Chase, and Nathaniel Coffman; and step-mother, Katie Chase of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
