Jerry Donald Larson, born on October 16, 1944, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, passed away on April 16, 2024. His life was one filled with dedication and love for his family and country.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5th at the American Legion Post 175 in Jackson, Nebraska.
Jerry proudly served as a Veteran of the United States Army from October 1964 to September 1967. After his military service, he pursued a career at John Morrell and later as a security guard for the Terra Building. Jerry's work ethic and commitment were evident in everything he did.
In his personal life, Jerry cherished simple pleasures. He had a deep passion for NASCAR, Western movies, and admired bald eagles, finding beauty and inspiration in nature's creations. Jerry also found immense joy in being a full-time caregiver for his grandchildren. His proudest accomplishments include spending quality time with his grandkids, supporting Domanic in restoring tractors and mowers, and cheering on Cheyenne as she showcased dairy cows.
Among those who have gone before him are his parents, his beloved wife Kristy, and his niece Tami. Jerry is survived by his daughters Alexandria (David) McNear of Bronson, IA, Toni (Katie) Bennet of Omaha, NE; grandchildren Domanic and Cheyenne; identical twin brother Larry (Shannon) Larson; nieces and nephews Michael (Julie), Lynn, Kelli (Adam); great-nieces and nephews Shelby, Madison, Derek, Ami, Austin, Hazen, and Monroe.
Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
