  Jerry Lee Barker, 68, of South Sioux City, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Mohr & Becker Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation will begin half an hour prior to the service. There will be a luncheon to follow the service at Covington Park in South Sioux City, located at the corner of W. 4th Street and 5th Avenue.

  Jerry was born on August 16, 1955 in Sioux City, to Jo Anne Davis and Kenneth Guy Barker. He attended school in Homer, Nebraska.

  He married his first wife, Phyllis, in the 1970s, and the two later divorced. He then married his second wife, Colleen.

  Jerry was a resident of South Sioux City for most of his life. He managed Sunset Lanes for many years. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed working on his cars, dancing, and listening to music. He loved playing pool, and was a wonderful artist. He was the life of the party with a great sense of humor, and was a bit of a ladies man. He was also wonderful with kids.

  He is survived by his siblings: Judy Neal of Sioux City, Jean and Steve Kelley of Sioux Falls, Joe and Lynn Barker of South Sioux City, Mary Barker and Ed Miller of South Sioux City, Linda Barker of Sioux City, Ronnie and Annie Blake of Kenosha, WI, John Bunning of Sioux City, and Tammy and Jim Symons of Sioux City.

  He was preceded in death by his parents: Jo Anne Blake and Kenneth Barker; his wife, Colleen Barker; his children: Jerry Lee, Jody, Sherrie “Sissy” Lynn, and Buddy Lee; and a brother, Kenny Barker.
