Jeannine Gabrielle Armando Schooley (Frenchy) joined her husband in Heaven on December 18, 2022.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Jeannine was born December 13, 1931 in Nice Alpes Maritimes, the daughter of Simon Baptiste Marius Armando and Louise Lucie Marie Donato Armando. After completing her education, she traveled around France and Switzerland working in various restaurants and cafes until she met her husband of 43 years, Royden Dudley Schooley, in Nancy, France in 1956. They were married November 7, 1956 while Royden was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Bordeaux, France.
In 1959, the family moved to the United States, living in Washington State and Nebraska, where Jeannine worked at the Flamingo, Archie’s Steakhouse, the Fife and Drum, and finally the Elbon Club. In 1979, the family moved to Colorado Springs where they both eventually retired.
Jeannine was a member of the Daughters of the Nile Hathor Temple #38 in Sioux City and involved in many of her husband’s WWII reunion activities until his passing.
Survivors include her children: Patrick Schooley of Sioux City, IA and Nancy Schooley of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, older sister Albertine and younger brother Robert.
