Jean Lillian Lambert passed on to her heavenly home on 3/11/2023 at the age of 95.  To her delight and the amazement of her loving family, she was able to live on her beloved Hale St acreage for 68 years.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.  The service will be live streamed at http://youtube.com/live/zb4VK5XcS4w and online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

In June of 2022 she move to Westwood Specialty Care, under the care of Hospice of Sioux land, as her heart was unfortunately showing its age. She enjoyed the attentiveness of the caring staff of both Westwood and Hospice.   Jean’s stay was supposed to be very short, she defied that notion and was able to enjoy her weekly outing of lunch and dessert for 8 1/2 more months, including her birthday lunch at Crave on the river. She ate the whole thing!

Jean was born in Chicago on February 2nd 1928 and was raised on the northwest side.  She attended Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary and Washburn Trade School. She enjoyed the distinction of having her birthday on Groundhog’s day. She left Chicago as a teen to live with a family in Oregon and was able to get a job at Montgomery Wards as a junior accountant because of her neat penmanship, which she was also proud of.

It was in Oregon that Jean met Warren H Lambert Jr. from Sioux City Ia. Warren had been stationed in the military there.  They married at Lake Coeur d’ Alene Idaho in 1949 then traveled back to Sioux City Ia. to start their family of six. The marriage lasted 15 years, Warren passed in 1970, Jean never remarried.  Jean enjoyed raising and selling animals. Everything from cats and dogs to the horses that were a family affair. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching especially the hummingbirds that enjoyed her patio feeder while she enjoyed her coffee.

Jean is survived by her children Cindy (Rick) Craig, Marty Lambert, Laurie (Kevin) Lukken, Dan (Sue) Lambert, Mitch (Eva) Lambert, Daughter-in-law Suzanne Lambert, Sisters, Linda Fausak, Cassia Williamson and her husband John Miller. Fifteen Grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

(Wilson) Anderson-Williamson, a brother Vernon (Bernice) Anderson, Warren H Lambert Jr, a Son Andrew Lambert, Grandson Travis Lambert, Daughter-in-law Cindy Lambert, John George Jr, husband of one of her lovely granddaughters and Brother-in-law Lenard Fausak.
