Jason Stephens

August 15, 1973 — February 13, 2021

Jason Stephens, 47, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021.  A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Jason was born the son of Lawrence “Larry” and Debbie (Stotz) Stephens on August 15, 1973 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He attended Sioux City Public Schools.  Jason always called Sioux City home, but did spend a short time in Columbia and St. Joseph, Missouri in the late 90s.

A skilled carpenter and tradesman for various companies in the area with much of his time dedicated to the carpenter’s union, Jason most recently worked at Nelson Commercial Construction.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jason. While he enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, traveling, skiing, and boating, he was always up for an adventure or trying new things.  From day one, everything he did, he did with bravery and pushed to the limits.  Jason was an all-in kind of guy and was always the life of the party with a laugh and voice that could be heard for miles.

Jason is survived by his children, Eaon Stephens, Elexis Stephens, and Broc Stephens all of Sioux City and Ashleykay Harding of Colorado Springs, Colorado; longtime companion, Joann Keairns of Sioux City; mother, Debbie Keleher of Wickenburg, Arizona; sister, Jina Luchsinger-Ellison of Portland, Oregon; brother, Donald Keleher, Jr. of Sioux City; step-father, Donald Keleher of Sioux City; step-sister, Jesse Keleher of Sioux City; and step-brother, Dusty Keleher of Erie, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry.
