James E. Starks, 82, passed away in 2026. Born on February 10, 1944, in Wakefield, Nebraska, he was the son of Stanley and Vergie Starks. A graveside service celebrating the lives of James Starks and Carolyn Starks will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Coleridge Cemetery in Coleridge, Nebraska.
He grew up in Allen, Nebraska, and graduated from Allen Consolidated High School in 1962. On May 11, 1963, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Kay Bean.
James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to the electrical trade, retiring from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in 2025 after an impressive 55 years as an electrician.
A man who could seemingly do anything, James enjoyed riding motorcycles, wood carving, hunting, fishing, and tackling projects of every kind. He was a member of the Black Powder Club and was known as a true jack-of-all-trades. Though he loved fishing, family members often joked that Carolyn was usually the one who caught the biggest fish.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Starks and wife, Carolyn Starks.
