James "Stan" Stanley Hokanson

March 24, 1945 — February 15, 2021

James “Stan” Hokanson, 75, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home following a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Reverend Del Olivier will officiate. Due to the ongoing pandemic, masks and social distancing are required. The service will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/sZ_DT7jDndU. Stan was born March 24, 1945 and raised in Sioux City.  He attended West Junior and Central High as a '63 graduate. He graduated from Morningside College and worked as an accountant in Minneapolis, Dallas, and Sioux City. He was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Friend, Jodi, reunited them in 1995 and rekindled a friendship that started in 7th grade homeroom. He had 2 children, Kymberly and Ryan. On August 14,1998 he married Stephanie Moe Brink. God blessed them as they found 22 years of happiness and love neither had ever known.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Stephanie Hokanson of Sioux City; daughter Kymberly (John) Allen of Dallas, TX; son Ryan (Shari) Hokanson of Denver, CO; grandchildren Dalton and Hailee Franck of Dallas, TX, Owen and Abby Hokanson of Denver, CO; great-granddaughter Alice Franck; brother Randall Hokanson of South Lake Tahoe, CA; sister Karen Hokanson of Truro, ME; brother and sister-in-law Linn and Barbara Culley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hartwig and Naomi (Binkerd) Hokanson, and his brother Douglas Hokanson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Franck, Owen Hokanson, Randy Hokanson, Linn Culley, Chris Culley, and Adam Culley.

Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Siouxland and Wesley United Methodist Church.
