James "Jim" L. Moyle, 78, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at a local hospital.
Jim's life was a testament to love, community, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched. A visitation will be held at the Whitfield United Methodist Church in Sioux City on April 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. As we gather to honor James’ “No Big Deal, Jim” memory, let us carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and strong family ties.
Born on October 2, 1946, in Union Grove, Wisconsin, the son of James and Lucille (Nelson) Moyle, Jim dedicated his life to his family and his community, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Jim enjoyed many years of a fulfilling career at IBP, where he contributed his skills and dedication. A proud Navy veteran, he was actively involved in the American Legion Post #64 and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter #54, embracing the values of camaraderie and service that defined his life. His commitment to others extended well beyond his military service, as he fostered friendships and support among those around him. A cherished friend of Bill W., Jim found strength and encouragement through this fellowship. He married Diane on March 28, 1992, and the couple just celebrated their 33rd year of marriage.
An active member of the Whitfield United Methodist Church, Jim's spirit of giving was evident in his role as a lay minister. He also took delight in helping with the Peanut Brittle operation, sharing his love for this sweet treat with his community. Jim’s love for puzzles reflected his sharp mind and fondness for problem-solving, but above all, what defined him was his profound love for his family.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Diane; his sons, Anthony Moyle and Chris Moyle, both of Sioux City; and his daughter, Janice Jasper of Fajardo, Puerto Rico. He leaves behind ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought endless joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Sue) Moyle of La Crosse, Wisconsin; sisters Roberta (Howard) Cook of Iola, Wisconsin, Jackie Geason of Union Grove, Wisconsin, and Nancy Moorman of Concord, Texas; sister-in-law Linda Chrisman; and brother-in-law Richard Jones, along with numerous nieces and nephews who treasured their time with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille Moyle; his son, Joseph Moyle; brothers-in-law Bill Mallow, Bob Geason, Tim Moorman, and Jim Chrisman; and beloved nephew Eric Loch and niece Shannon Chrisman.
