Jerry Wayne Minter

Jerry Wayne Minter passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 20, 1953 in Sioux City, IA, he was the son of Oscar and Bernice Minter.

Jerry had a passion for fishing, hunting, and animals in general. He studied taxidermy, and worked as a carpenter on and off throughout his lifetime. Other hobbies included being in nature, gardening, listening to music, watching western movies, and having a great time with his friends.

Jerry is survived by his step daughter Nealy Wooldridge of Sacramento, California, two brothers, Rick (Wilma) Minter of Apache Junction, AZ, Rene (Shari) Minter of Firestone, CO, and sister Lori (Arnie) Bush of Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marcey Minter and several nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his ex-wife Rebecca Minter, his ex-partner Charlene Wooldridge, family members Jessica Bailey, Jillian Campbell, David Schultz, and their children, as well as close friends Brandon Welter, Brady Schilousky, Craig Gibson, Mike Moriston, and Jeff Frase. He leaves behind a legacy through his close friends and the connections he made at Prime Living Apartments and PACE, as well as a community garden he recently started.

Jerry’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Prime Living Apartments and PACE for the unwavering care and support that was shown to Jerry, allowing him to flourish, become more healthy, and build connections in the later years of his life.

Jerry is preceded by his parents, Oscar and Bernice Minter, and his brother, Kerry Minter.
