James "Jimmy" Alan Langseth II, 44, of Tabor, South Dakota, formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly after suffering a heart attack, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In honor of Jimmy, the family invites everyone attending to wear his favorite color, blue.
Jimmy was born on November 12, 1981, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Kenneth Langseth and Patricia Stingley. He was raised in South Sioux City, Nebraska, where he attended South Sioux City Community Schools.
Throughout his life, Jimmy worked for Bimbo's, Hy-Vee, and most recently the Cogan House. He was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Whether repairing small engines, lawnmowers, automobiles, or tackling projects around the house, Jimmy enjoyed working with his hands and helping others whenever he could.
Jimmy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved the outdoors and spending time by the river, collecting coins, drawing, and riding his moped. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Jimmy met Shannon several years ago, and his life was turned around. Together the couple were raising Braeleigh, and Jimmy was better known as “Jungle Jim”.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather Patricia “Pat” and Don Stingley; son Cameron Langseth; his beloved girlfriend Shannon Browne and her children: Gage, Shay, and Masen; granddaughter Braeleigh and other special children in the family; siblings: Tina (Gig) Beacom, Kemberlee (Mike) Johnson, Wayne (Jerry) Langseth, Autumn Henner, Chuck (Tracy) Langseth, and Kaylee Langseth.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Langseth.
