James "Jim" Allen Langseth

April 29, 1958 — March 27, 2023

James Allen “Jim” Langseth, 64, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 27th surrounded by his loved ones. 

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jim was born April 29, 1958, in Sioux City, the son of Charles Langseth and Geraldine (Skidmore) Saunders.  He graduated from South Sioux City High School.  Jim worked at Dakota Avenue Muffler Shop and Tires Tires Tires, supporting the community for over 40 years with their automotive needs. He was an avid golfer and could often be found at Covington Links Golf Course or spending time with his friends and family in his garage.  Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and looked forward to his annual trip to Sturgis with his son. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Kansas City Chiefs fan and a member of the South Sioux City American Legion Post 307.

His children and grandchildren meant the absolute world to him. He is survived by his son Casey and wife Michele Langseth and their children:  Layla, Addison, and Quinn of North Liberty, IA; his daughter Jessica and her husband Anthony Angel and their children:  Trey, Mariyah, Audrina, Zamya, Kailani, and Kobe of Sioux City; two brothers:  Bill (Linda) Langseth, and Ron Langseth both of South Sioux City, NE. And brother-in-law Dave Ouellette of Dakota City, NE

Jim was preceded in death by his sister Linda, father Charles Langseth, mother Geraldine Saunders, brothers Don and Ken, and his sister Debbie.
