James Lee Flowers, 65, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at a Sioux City hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will 1 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
The family requests all attendees to please wear a mask at the funeral home.
James Flowers 65, of Sioux City passed away October 1, 2020 with his wife by his side. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a friend to everyone who knew him. He exceeded in everything he did including his work ethics which led him to hold several leadership positions. His career begun in Wichita, KS which then led him to Dodge City, KS where he met his wife Jo while working at Excel and High Plains. All of James success led his family to South Dakota and eventually settled in Sioux City, IA where he has been employed for the last 18 years at Emplrical in South Sioux City, NE. He enjoyed sports such as basketball he was known as” the frogman” for his left hand jumper. James was also an avid softball player landing the nickname “Home Run King.”

Stepchildren- Tanzia ( Larry), Tafawn (Jay), Torri (Justin) of Sioux City, IA
Brothers- Mane (Diane), & Duane (Tracie) of Wichita, KS
Sisters- Gwendolyn (Willie), Donna (Thomas), Cassandra (Walter), & Stephanie (Otha) of Wichita, KS
Stepmom- Alma of Wichita, KS and also a host of grandkids.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Gerldine Harderman, Edward Flowers Sr., his son Marvin Flowers, his brother Maurice Coakes and one grandson Marvin Edward Flowers.
