Obituary

James Robert “Bob” Clark Sr., 86, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City. Born on September 23, 1939, in Le Mars, Iowa, Bob was the son of Paul B. and Nelda (Kendall) Clark.

Bob was raised in Sioux City, where he completed his education at Central High School, graduating in 1958. It was during his high school years that he met Diane K. Beaubien, who would become his lifelong partner. They were united in marriage on August 9, 1958, in Sioux City, and together they raised two sons. Bob deeply cherished his family and was immensely proud of their accomplishments.

Bob began his early working life delivering milk for Roberts Dairy and working in retail at Morey's and Raymond's Clothing Store. His dedication and passion eventually led him to a 41-year career in real estate in Sioux City, where he earned respect and admiration for his commitment and professionalism. Beyond his business achievements, Bob was a man of spirited personality—outgoing, warm, and a natural conversationalist who never met a stranger.

In his younger years, Bob was an avid softball player and enjoyed sharing his love for sports by coaching his sons’ little league teams. Over the years, he pursued hobbies such as fishing, boating, bowling, and playing cards. Bob’s involvement with the Midwest Corvette Club brought him numerous friendships and lasting memories. He was also a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City.

He is survived by his two sons, James “Jim” Clark Jr. and his wife Debbie of Granger, Iowa, and Jeffrey “Jeff” Clark and his wife Julia of Warsaw, Indiana; five grandchildren: Katelyn Girard and her husband Nick, Jaclyn Hight and her husband John, Christy Bennett, Jay Clark, and Nicki Clark; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lynne Clark, and his brother-in-law, Gary Beaubien and his wife Diana.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nelda Clark; his wife, Diane Clark, who passed away on January 30, 2025; and his brother, Bill Clark.

A visitation to honor Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service from 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, located at 6200 Morningside Avenue in Sioux City, Iowa.
