James Donald "Jim" Chrisman

James Donald “Jim” Chrisman, 71, of Dakota City, NE, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Salem Lutheran Church with Reverend Sandra Braasch officiating.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior at the church.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Jim was born May 15, 1952, in Pickstown, SD, the son of Lynn and Mary Rosalie (Gootee) Chrisman.  He attended South Sioux City Schools.  He married Linda Jones on December 16th, 1972 in Sioux City,IA.  To this union, one daughter, Shannon, was born.

Jim worked at the Sioux City Foundry in South Sioux City for 49 ½ years.  He enjoyed fishing, reading, and camping.  Jim also volunteered and coached the South Sioux City Special Olympics and traveled to South Korea with the United Floor Hockey Team.  He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Chrisman; sisters:  Lynda (Jim) Alvarez, Shirley Maron, and Beverly (Dennis) Schaffer; brother-in-law: Richard Jones, sister-in-law: Diane (Jim) Moyle; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lynn and Mary Rosalie Chrisman, his parents-in-law George and Irene Jones, brother Robert, sister-in-law Toni Jones, and his daughter Shannon.
