Hyman Niessink

Hyman Niessink, 84, of Sioux City, IA, passed away May 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by those who love him.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Hyman was born on June 2, 1938 in Steen, MN to Gerrit and Rena (Boone) Niessink. Hyman drove truck all his life. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and working around his home. He will always be remembered for his kindness to others, he never knew a stranger. But most of all he will be remembered as a wonderful dad to not just his kids but to all who knew him. He was married to Barbara until her passing. He was later united in marriage to Mary Erickson in 1991. 

Those left to live in honor of his memory include his wife, Mary Niessink, Sioux City, IA.  Children: Lynn (Chuck) Gries, Branson, MO; James (Rebecca) Niessink, Phoenix,  AZ; Sister: Marlene Aukes, Steen, MN. 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter. Stepdaughters: Kim (Russell) Cvach; Brenda Noll (Darby). 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren. Sister-in-laws: Mary Niessink, Connie Gorham, Shari Pithan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Niessink, brother in-law Harley Aukes.
