Helen Virginia Forrester

Helen Virginia Forrester, 94 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at a local hospital.  Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting family with arrangements.

Helen was born on January 25, 1927 in San Francisco, California to John and Marie A. (Stewart) Sanders.  Following her education, she married Harold “Chuck” Forrester on October 29, 1950 in San Jose, California.  To this couple, four children were born.  History of her residences include Santa Clara, California from 1950 until 1967, South Sioux City, Nebraska from 1967 until 1984, various locations in California from 1984 until 2016, and has been in Hinton, Iowa since 2016.  Helen was a devoted Catholic and volunteered for many church functions.  She enjoyed bowling, singing, playing the piano, drawing, and writing poems and short stories. 

Left to cherish her memories include her son John Forrester of Hinton, Iowa; daughter Janet Shook of Yuma, Arizona; sister Gloria Jaggers of Modesto, California; brother Bob Sanders of Murphys California; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck in 2016, son Bob Forrester, sisters Beverly Bonetti and Marie Sanders, and brother Frank Sanders.
