Harold L. Grosvenor

Harold L. Grosvenor, 94 of Ponca, Nebraska, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daily Cemetery in rural Ponca.

Harold was born the son of Burt and Mabel (Armstrong) Grosvenor on January 6, 1930 in Ponca, Nebraska. He attended country school and graduated from Ponca High School in 1947. Harold honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his service, he earned the Korean service medal with two bronze stars as well as a United Nations service medal and National Defense service medal. He married Mildred Nice in 1956. To this union three sons were born. 

Harold made his home on the family farm outside of Ponca where he farmed his whole life. 

He enjoyed dancing, snow and water skiing, roller skating, boating, and sand volleyball. Most of these things he did well into his 80s. He loved to frequent Bob Roe’s and Olive Garden, as well as cooking meals with his family. 

He was a member of Siouxland Ski Club since 1972. 

Harold is survived by his sons, Kent Grosvenor, Kurt (Darcy Prichard) Grosvenor, and Kevin (Indira) Grosvenor; grandchildren, Tonya (Mark) Nelson, Jeremy (Stephanie) Grosvenor, Dusty Wilderman, Kandis Grosvenor, Grant Grosvenor, Claire (Mike Sandefer) Grosvenor, Nicole Grosvenor, and Alex Grosvenor; great-grandchildren, Blayke (Jenna) Hall, Dylan (Katlyn Mace) Hall, Koy (Marlena Collins) Hall, Peyton Harms, Lauren Harms, Alani Grosvenor, AJ Grosvenor, Lilly Grosvenor, Tyrece Gale, Dustin Grosvenor, Devin Smith, and Alexander Grosvenor; and great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Hall, Emelia Jo Espinoza, Lola McLain, and Kaecyn Simantel. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Helen, B. Vernon, Robert, Dale, Alice, and triplets in infancy, Darrel, Doris, and Dorothy.
