Harry “Dean” Lockwood, 89 of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at St. Thomas Orthodox Church. Visitation will be Monday, July 15, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Trisagion all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery in Graceland Park Cemetery.
Dean was born the son of H. Fred and Gladys (Marsh) Lockwood on January 15, 1935 at home in Marble Rock, Iowa. He graduated from Marble Rock Schools and Iowa State University. He served in the Army Nation Guard. Dean married Angeline “Annie” Skaff on September 13, 1959 at St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Sioux City.
He worked at Nutrena Feeds as a purchasing agent for about 30 years. Most recently he worked at Karlton’s as a bookkeeper.
Most important to him was his role as a husband, father and grandfather. His family was always his first priority.
He was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church and served as a board member for many years. He was also a long-time Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include his son, Mark Lockwood of Sioux City; daughter, Theresa and her spouse, Laurie of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren, Dawn Caskey (Robbie), Kelley McPeek (Kyle), Amber McPeek (Adam), James McPeek (Amanda), Matthew Crane (Yvonne) and Marcus Eyer; 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Robert Lockwood, James Lockwood (Jan), and Lee Lockwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annie; and sister, Joan Hannah.
