Grace Ann was born on July 9, 1937 Sioux City to Ralph and Genevieve (Hutchings) Boals.  Grace grew-up on a farm near Dakota City, and attended Brushy Bend rural grade school, South Sioux City High School, and Nebraska Wesleyan University.  She had a soft-spot in her heart for cats, tending daily to her herd of 15 – 20 outdoor cats and 3 indoor cats.  She even remodeled and heated her garage to keep her cats warm.  Grace Ann loved feeding and watching birds, and raised tons of garden produce.

Grace Ann married Jerry Anderson in Elk Point, South Dakota.  She enjoyed travel and she and Jerry saved every item they collected on those trips.  She loved country music, and got a hug from her favorite singer, Willie Nelson.  Grace Ann was full of life, quick to laugh, saved everything, and was a good businesswoman, as she owned and managed the Old Brass Rail Bar in Sioux City since purchasing it in 1984.  She had an infectious smile that always warmed the room.  Now that she’s in Heaven, Grace will be greatly missed.

Grace Ann is survived by her daughter Samantha (Kevin) Boyce of Loveland, Colorado, sister Linda (Perry) Dawes of Omaha, Nebraska, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry in 2015, brother Robert Boals, and daughter Jennifer Schuppan.
