Gloria "Lynn" Cole

Gloria “Lynn” Cole, 58, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family in Iowa City on February 10, 2023.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 18^th at 10:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lynn was born on September 9, 1964 in Concord, NC to Robert and Blanche (McDaniel) Sweatt.  She was united in marriage to Kevin Cole in 1986, to this union they had 2 children.  He preceded her in death in 2011 after 25 years of marriage.  Lynn always took care of others and found her calling in life by working in the home health care field.  She worked at Synergy Healthcare for many years.  She was very spiritual and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, fishing, traveling, and watching the Chicago Bears and Nebraska Huskers.

Those left to honor her memory include her significant other, Gerald “Jerry” Kelley, Sioux City, IA; children: Lisa (Jason) Johnson, Moville, IA, Keith Cole, Moville, IA, Allie (Phoenix) Larned, Sioux City, IA, Matthew (Charlotta) Kelley, Omaha, NE, Jeremy (Jessica) Kelley, Milford, IA, Alyssa Kelley, Columbus, NE; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Patsy (Kelly) Windle, Mike (Deb) Sweatt, Leon Jr. (Renee) Crabtree, Mark (Nicole) Crabtree, and Kathy (Ree) Sweatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sisters: Becky, Linda and Karen; and her beloved dog, Husker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a donation in Lynn’s name.
