Glenn D. Gunsolley

April 19, 1938 — February 11, 2023

Glenn D. Gunsolley, 84 of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Omaha Valley in Homer, Nebraska.

Glenn was born the son of Glenn O. and Helen (Manning) Gunsolley on April 19, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1956 and attended LeTourneau Tech in Longview, Texas where he studied mechanical engineering.  He married Marilyn Lamason on November 21, 1959.  They enjoyed 63 years together. 

Glenn worked for National Foods and Sioux Transportation before owning and operating Shady Elm Trailer Court for 25 years until his retirement.

He had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Evangelical Church most of his life.  He was a doer and a giver and loved to fix and repair things.  He enjoyed traveling and camping when the kids were little.  He and Marilyn made many memories taking trips to Hawaii as well as an Alaskan Cruise.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Marilyn Gunsolley of South Sioux City; children, David (Lisa) Gunsolley of Pleasantville, Iowa, Linda Stevens of South Sioux City, and Steven (Lisa) Gunsolley of Allen, Nebraska; sisters, Jane (Don) Huwe, Phyllis (Leonard) Gontjes, and Charlene (Jim) Knudsen; grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Nykki, Jessie, Kaitlin, Bailey, and Dylan; and great-grandchildren, Daffney, Conner, Andrian, Tayler, Noah, Jerzy, Hunter, Westley, Luna, Knox, Pierce, Chance, Ridge, and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Colton.
